Thank you for buying a BrightLight™ blanket. This fun and innovative product is brand new to the market and you are one of the first to receive it. IdeaVillage strives to ensure that each and every product we deliver is the best quality and provides the best possible customer experience.

IdeaVillage recently became aware that if batteries with insufficient insulation are placed into the battery compartment in the zipper pouch on the side of the blanket, the batteries can overheat making the compartment hot to the touch, and posing a potential burn risk. IdeaVillage has received four reports of overheating, including one report of a minor burn to the finger requiring no medical attention.

To ensure the safety and peace of mind of all of our customers, IdeaVillage is providing a free replacement blanket with a different battery compartment that prevents this issue from occurring.

Only blankets received by consumers before August 30, 2012 are subject to the recall. BrightLight™ blankets shipped and received after August 30, 2012 are not affected. If you have received this letter, your BrightLight™ blanket has been identified as one that might be impacted by this issue. You should immediately stop using your blanket and return it to IdeaVillage.

As part of our commitment to quality service we have enclosed a prepaid shipping envelope for your convenience to return the blanket to IdeaVillage. Once we receive your returned blanket, at no charge to you, we will ship you a new BrightLight™ blanket with a different battery compartment that prevents this overheating issue.
